Is Conjuring Series The Scariest Thing?
It is very difficult to script a horror movie in the correct direction especially movies like The Conjuring. However, during the past few decades there have been quite a few movies which despite the low budget have not only scripted history but have been critically acclaimed also.
James Wan has achieved this impossible feat in The Conjuring which has become one of the most profitable movies ever grossing a new high in Hollywood history. The movie is based on possessions which real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren witnessed. This movie is a throwback of old Hollywood horror movies.
Undoubtedly, The Conjuring is one of the scariest movies ever made but has become outstandingly successful.
James Wan seems to be an expert of horror. He has made seven sequels of his horror series Saw. His series Saw also made $873 million which made him the stalwart of horror. Another reason for the popularity of The Conjuring is that the movie taps into all our childhood nightmares and it seems that all of these have come alive.
The tension in the movie also builds from the initial scenes and it tightens its grip as the movie progresses. The movie was also based on real life events and experiences of paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine. While Ed died a few years ago, Larraine is still around and apparently helped James Wan with the script. This also contributed to the popularity of the movie and made it immensely popular among the audience.
The Cojuring released on July 19, 2013 and was able to gross $318 million worldwide. The popularity of this scary movie made the producer try hand at The Cojuring 2 which was released on June 10, 2016.
The movie depicts the story of Rod and Carolyn who find that their dog has died under mysterious circumstances.
They soon find out that they have a spirit in their home which is all set to harm their daughter Andrea. They then decide to call paranormal experts to deal with this situation. It is here that Ed and Larraine made their entry and helped the couple get over this agonising experience. The story has been depicted perfectly in The Conjuring which made it one of the scariest movies ever.
