With Champions League final around the corner lets dig into its history a bit. UEFA Champions League is arguably Europeans club footballs biggest and most competitive completion, and unlike most European tournaments, where combined points of complete season decide the winner, here we have a round robin group stage followed by knockouts and Final to decide the champion. Though the Champions League started in 1992 it replaced a similar tournament by UEFA “ European Champion Clubs’ Cup” which started in 1955. Over the course of years we have had many champions and here we are mentioning the clubs who have won it more than two times.

Part of the big four of England has been England’s biggest success at European level with 5 Champions League titles. They won the prestigious title in 1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005
The German Giants have also won the Champions League 5 times with the most recent being in 2013. The other titles they won are 1974, 1975, 1976, 2001.

Apart from these Benifica, Juventus, Nottingham Forest and Porto have all won this tournament twice each followed by a long list of one time winner.
