10. Blood Falls, Antarctica
Taylor glaciers are among mysterious places which have a blood front glacier. Though nothing can be said with certainty about this blood colour, scientists have concluded that it is due to presence of subterranean lake rich in iron that gives the glacier its blood red colour.
9. Magnetic Hill, New Brunswick
The phenomena of vehicles rolling up a hill is something which makes magnetic hill, unique in many aspects. A similar hill also exists in Ladakh region in India.
8. Surtsey, Iceland
Icelandic island of Surtsey is another among mysterious places which cropped up in 1963 through a volcanic eruption. The activity settled down in 1967 and a new island came up at a place where none existed before.
7. Moeraki Boulders, New Zealand
These are large spherical boulders with some of these measuring 12 feet in circumference. These are scattered on Koekohe beach on the East Coast of New Zealand. These formed millions of years ago and were similar to shells which were like oyster from pearls.

Sun never sets from April 20th to August 23rd in Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago which is located in North of Greenland. After some days of this activity being in motion, it is impossible to tell if it is evening or night during this course.

This unusual snowy landscape is actually calcium carbonate deposit which has accumulated over a period of thousands of years. The remnants of this place in Pamukkale in Turkey attract visitors from across the world.

Another of the mysterious places is Death Valley in California. Sailing stones in Racetrack playa have made the place unique and mysterious. Scientists however claim that ice forms around these stones which make them sail and thus leave a trail.

A geological fault has created a flame at Eternal falls in New York. With water flowing through the flame, the optical illusion this phenomena creates makes this place truly remarkable.
2. Old faithful, Yellowstone National Park
This National park has the highest concentration of geysers in the world. The park has 300 of these with old faithful being the most unique. The eruption occurs here every hour and last 3-5 minutes.

This place has the world’s highest frequency of lightning activity with 250 flashes per square km per year. If you visit this place, perhaps you will be awake whole night out of curiosity and fear of the unknown.
